A local landmark since 1929 famous for it's good food, friendly service and award winning....
We made the trip down through Sarasota Bay to the New Pass Sand Bar for some live music, sun and fun courtesy of Marine Max Sarasota. It was a breezy day but there was plenty of sunshine to go around and everyone appeared to be having a great time.
It's great to see another option in Sarasota dedicated to meeting all of your boating needs...
We decided to head south to Sarasota on Saturday. Not having shot the area other than a holiday we didn't know exactly what to expect. We started in Big Pass and though the weather couldn't have been better we found the boat traffic to be well less than we expected and pretty evenly split between both sides of the channel. After posting up from the sand bar in the middle of the channel for an hour and a half we decided to try New Pass and then motored south on the ICW to Phillippi Creek.
We had a great time at the 2024 Suncoast Boat Show taking in all of the latest and greatest of the marine industry, with the best prices of the year, in the beautiful surroundings of Marina Jack in Sarasota! Over 25K visitors took advantage of the opportunity to review the 250 exhibitors and over 400 boats on display, and over 65K square feet of dock space!
From micro-skiffs, kayaks and tenders to huge center consoles, cruisers and luxury yachts... you could see it all at the Suncoast Boat Show! Our heartfelt thanks to Boat Owners Warehouse, the signature sponsor, who has really staked their claim to the City of Sarasota with their leadership in supporting such a great event.
What a beautiful day at the New Pass Sand Bar in Sarasota on Sunday. Our sincere appreciation to the good folks at Marine Max Sarasota for their continued sponsorship of such a fantastic event for the local boating community!
The docks at Marina Jack are packed this weekend with some of the most impressive boats on the Gulf Coast, and the Suncoast Boat Show is delivering exactly what you’d expect—sleek express cruisers, serious fishing machines, and head-turning yachts all in one place. From the moment you step onto the waterfront, it’s a full-on immersion into boating lifestyle: polished hulls, open cockpits, and plenty of opportunities to climb aboard and get a real feel for what’s out there.
If you’re even thinking about upgrading, comparing models, or just getting a better sense of what fits your style, tomorrow is the day to go. The crowds are manageable, the vendors are ready to talk, and you’ll get far more insight walking the docks than scrolling listings for weeks. Show up with a plan—know the size range you’re targeting and a few must-see brands—and you’ll walk away with clarity instead of just ideas.
