Crabby's On The Pass

Crabby's On The Pass

It was a little sad to see the passing of Gators but nice to see someone pick up the reins at such a unique location so quickly. When Gators left we figured the next stop for Kingfish Dr. were some high priced high rise condo's so it was beyond cool to see the new name on the side as we have been passing by.

Crabby's is located on the south side of Johns Pass just east of the Johns Pass Bridge and directly across from Hubbards, Bubba Gump and Hooters and billed properly the Worlds Longest Waterfront Bar! Johns Pass Village is nice and has some good dining/entertainment options but unfortunately there is no docking on that side so Crabby's is the destination by boat in Johns Pass.

When we were there Saturday there was plenty of dock space available and it was good to see dock master Robert directing traffic with a ready/experienced hand to grab a line or two. Those familiar with John's Pass know that the current there is nothing to play with so getting your boat into a tight spot can be challenging but he makes sure it all runs smoothly and safely. Crabby's management said that their is a dock master available daily from 10AM to 9PM for your convenience.

After you tie up you'll be directed to the hostess for seating with options dockside, at the bar, or dining room. Having spent the day on the boat we opted for the AC and were presented with a great view!

FEATURING
  • Florida's Longest Waterfront Bar
  • Fresh Seafood
  • Varied Seafood Options
  • Experienced Dock Master
  • Fast Friendly Service

Service was fast and friendly, my wife said they serve a solid drink and I can attest to the beers being ice cold. We just stopped in for a few drinks and a bite so we ordered the conch fritters, oysters crabefella and the crab and spinach dip. The conch fritters were right up my alley and my wife was a fan of the crab/spinach dip but we both found the oysters crabafella a little light on the oyster, or a little heavy on the bacon, cheese, etc..

The next time we come back we'll make sure we have room for a proper meal as menu offers seafood options aplenty and from what we could see from the other tables it all looks great and everyone was enjoying their choices. Crab, hogfish, grouper, snapper and even a shrimp boil so there's certainly something that will appeal to the seafood lovers in your family. On the other side they have chicken, steak, tacos and even hand tossed pizza for the land lubbers in the crowd.

If you're out and about in the area, coming back in after a day of fishing or just popping over from the adjacent sand bars, be sure to give Crabby's On The Pass a try and let them know Tampa Bay Boater sent you. It's great to have a dining option in Johns Pass with docking for diners and we're excited that Crabby's has picked up the ball!
